Re: Target Priorities
Hello Sorry if the rule is not clear, but it should be played as follow : - Artillery can fire through Skirmishers and unlimbered artillery to target a massed unit. - Artillery cannot fine through a disordered unit (infantry or cavalry) as it block line of sight. - Disordered units have no formatio...

Re: Target Priorities
This seems to be the most discussed part of the rules, so it would be good to get it sorted out before we all return to start the first competitions.

Re: Engage orders and Cavalry threat
Under visibility page 70, Is who can and can't see to and from a hill, not sure it is as simple as you think.
If the infantry can't see the cavalry then they cannot react to them and the cavalry will only be able to charge if it can see the infantry.

Re: Firing through unformed units
I can see this causing a problem where people don't follow all the forums posts. I hope this doesn't bring back arguments to competition wargaming.
I think the point needs to be made very clear in an update.

Re: Firing Priorities
As the rules only seem to allow the fire of artillery through detached skirmishers, I think the situation that you allow above needs to be added to the rules. I can see this causing a problem in games.

Re: Firing through unformed units
There is nowhere in the rules which says you can fire through an unformed unit, so in the case you give as an example, you would have to fire at another formed target within your arch of fire. If no such target exists then you would have to fire at the nearest unformed unit.

Re: Disordered Units
Best have a look at 'DISORDERED' on page 23 Covers all your questions.
As detached skirmishers cannot be disordered, I don't understand why you think a disordered unit would be better than when it was in a formation in good order.
Page 64 covers movement and Rallying.

Re: Firing through unformed units
Yes, it is clear only artillery can fire through detached skirmishers. No other cases are listed within the rules.
Ricochet covers the other cases you are asking about.
