Re: Fire Support
It sounds like three of us have consolidated on one position with Kevin the Viper taking another. My belief is that support fire must obey target priority restrictions. The artillery can choose the moment during the charge to fireh, however they may only act as fire support if the target is their pr...

Re: Skirmishers in buildings
Absent a lot of support they are easy to assault. They gain the protection of the building (+1 to +3) but the opponent gets +2 for fighting skirmishers in difficult terrain.

Re: Fire Support
I think the original question got confused a bit - probably due to my jumbled diagram. Let me try again in words. One unit is charging another unit. A separate Artillery unit wishes to provide fire support even though the enemy it will be shooting is not its primary target in terms of shooting prior...

Re: Fire Support
Thank you, this is helpful. I apologize for the diagram getting messed up - 3 was supposed to be several UD to the right of 1 and in front of 4 which is also several UD to the side of 1. " If 3 is not under fire from 4, then it must obey target priorities." This is my position. Some in my group seem...

Fire Support
May a unit provide fire support against an enemy unit when that enemy unit would not be the primary target for normal shooting? Consider 11 3 11 22 22 44 44 Each character is a single base. 1 is infantry, 3 is artillery and 2 and 4 are infantry units on the opposing side. 4 is in front of 3 May 3 el...

Opposing them are two units of infantry 3 and 4 The two lines are 3 UD apart. Unit 4 is musket armed. Unit 1 charges unit 3. May the detached skirmishers provide fi...

Passage of Lines
I am having difficulty understanding passage of lines and have two questions. 1. Consider the following case. Each character shown is one base with 11 and 22 infantry units, 33 is a Cavalry unit. All are facing in the same direction - up on this page. No other units are within 1 UD 11 11 22 22 33 Ma...

Cavalry with Attack Orders
Consider a cavalry division with Attack orders consisting of two units of cavalry. They have an enemy infantry unit, already in square in charge range. 1. May only one of the units declare a charge in order to fulfill the "half of the units in good order" requirement? 2. May the unit(s) which declar...
