Bataille Empire

This is maybe not a specific Bataille Empire question but I'm new to Miniatures and hope for some enlightenment ;) . In the rules it is shown how stands are positioned which occupy a building (around the building base). How is this handled with a terrain base containing Trees ? I'm playing with 10mm...
