Re: Artillery after melee
I have had another look at this and I cannot find nowhere where it says you cannot contact two enemy units. P57. Several units against one. It says 'During a shock combat, each enemy unit must be attacked separately.' But what is meant by attacked? Our problem with this is how do you attack a batter...

Re: Prussian Fusiliers
Having re-looked at this I think they have compensated by allowing a larger number of jagers and Schutzen.

Re: Artillery after melee
The attackers can contact a single enemy with more than one unit. They choose which to fight with and which are supports. However, that is not the same as using one unit to contact two defenders which is being discussed here. Sorry I missed that point. Looks as if I need to go through the rules aga...

Re: Artillery prep fire and movement
I don't think that artillery can prep fire and move. After it fires the artillery receives an action marker having completed the prep fire action, which coms before movement. On page 29 of the rules it states that artillery with an action marker may not move (but may flee). I agree, I don't think a...

Re: Artillery after melee
Don't the rules say you can only attack one unit with a unit? If the attack was to be on the artillery then that is what should be contacted. The infantry would then be hit by the pursuit. You can contact more than one unit, but only one fights, attackers choice, the other counts as support. Can't ...

Prussian Fusiliers
I would be interested to know why after 1807 they are no fusiliers classed as light infantry? After the reforms of 1808, 1 in every 3 battalions of a Line infantry regiment were a fusilier battalion and given the reforms were to bring the army into line with the French use of columns and skirmishers...

Re: Timing of shock combats
Absolutly not. All the combats are supposed to be simultaneous. The units having fighted can't support. Can you please point me to where it says all SHOCK combats are simultaneous? Most of the sections on Page 57 seem to be at odds to your view. Also morale support clearly states that units with ac...

Losses and Attrition
Some confusion over these two.
A unit has an attrition marker and takes another attrition. As two attrition are the equivalent to one loss, do you remove the two attrition markers and replace it with a one loss marker?
Thanks very much

Artillery after melee
We had a very interesting situation last night, which we could not resolve. PI PI PI PI PA PA PC PC FI FI FI FI PI is Prussian infantry in line, PA is Prussian artillery battery & PC is a Prussian column FI is French infantry in line. The French infantry decide to fight the artillery. After shock th...

Page 48 Conditions of support, second bullet point.RogerGreenwood a écrit : ↑lun. 9 déc. 2019 00:04Having an action marker disqualifies a unit from giving support. It is in the bullet points along with being disordered.
Found it when I was away.
