Bataille Empire Open day 1 – Leeds Sunday April 21st 2024

This is the first in a series of one day’s competitions in the UK, aiming to meet to provide two functions, firstly taster sessions for new players who may not even have the rules or suitable figures where I and possibly others would walkthrough a game with them. Secondly the more experience players...

Re: Flank Opportunity charge question

Yes that make most sense and is what people are doing, the only slight cavate I have is that the triggering distance seems to be measured as per charge distance that is from the furthers corner of the charging unit to the closest point on the target unit, which is fine by me :D

Re: Warfare 2023 11th/12th November 2023

Quoi q...

Flank Opportunity charge question

I will post this on Facebook as well but would like to pick your collective brains please. It concerns opportunity charges in the particular case of a cavalry unit being on the flank of an infantry unit within 4 UD but outside 2UD. When the infantry unit's division is activated the cavalry unit has ...

Re: Moving supports > allowed distance

No that's version 1 in Version two, part of the target of the charge has to be within 45° of the unit declaring the charge ( see page 37). It then moves along a line( axis) connecting the centres which means its perfectly possible to go move more than 45° with the unit( see the example on the same p...

Re: Route obligatoire?

In V2 roads are mandatory and one must be placed per individual building or village, even if they are already on an existing road such as the communications line. En V2, les routes sont obligatoires et doivent être placées par bâtiment ou village, même si elles se trouvent déjà sur une route existan...

Re: firefight morale test

I agree with Roger, it would seem unreasonable that when a unit has been eliminated( but somehow managed to inflict more casualties) the surviving unit has to test for morale.

Re: obstacles

It is not actually crossing the hedge though. If nobody is climbing anything there is no real reason it should be closed down. But the unit can't have a break in the middle so some poor troops are blundering down the hedge in game terms, obviously in real life that wouldn't happen and they would fl...

Re: obstacles

But you would do that if you failed to clear a wood completely so not sure why obstacles should be any different it just the movement penalty is defined differently.
