Ottoman Question
Ottoman national characteristics say that their infantry operate in deep order only. The only stated exemption to this are the Nizam-i-Jedid which can operate in deep or linear order. My question is this: what about the Sekhans? These are identified as type LT. I assume that this means they can brea...

Re: Unit visibility on gentle hills
Sorry if I misunderstood, but I read your response to hedge the p. 20 line with provisos and conditions not mentioned on p. 20. An unseen unit that shoots reveals itself to all enemies. Period. That is what it says on p. 20. If it is seen, it can be fired on and/or charged. Yes?

Unit visibility on gentle hills
I thought I understood this, but now I'm not sure. Please bear with me. p. 20 says "a unit cannot charge or fire at an enemy hidden in a wood or behind the crest of a hill" but that "a hidden unit that fires, however, reveals itself to all enemies". A couple questions about unclear points. 1. Really...

Fire support from friendly, non-activated division?
Had a situation come up today which oddly hadn't come up before. Can a unit from a non-activated division in position to provide fire support to a unit or units from an activated division do so? If so, would it matter whether or not the unit from the non-activated division's division had been activa...

Re: Artillery "under skirmisher fire"
Thanks. That is what I thought as well. My opponent thought only detached skirmishers should qualify, but he was not an disinterested commentator since we were in the middle of a game.

Artillery "under skirmisher fire"
Do both detached skirmisher units and formed unit's integral skirmishers count as placing an unlimbered artillery unit "under skirmisher fire" for purposes of applying the -1 the the artillery's shooting?
