18/19.07.26 Bataille Empire V2 Event: Martello Towers and Muskets

During the height of the Napoleonic Wars, Poole Harbour was referenced as a site of potential invasion due to the lack of security and military presence. Now we’ll meet there at Entoyment for a Bataille Empire event with bigger than usual games.

Entoyment is a large hobby shop on an industrial estate near Poole with its own café serving cooked food, snacks and drinks, a very large gaming space and lots on the shelves and lots of free parking in a separate lot next door.

It’s also summer, hopefully there will be nice weather, and Dorset is a lovely place for a holiday if anyone brought their families with them.

We’ll look at social meals out in the evening too for those wanting company.

What army: You will be playing four games, two at 200 points and two at 300 points. You may bring one Empire army and One Coalition Army if you’d like to try and avoid blue on blue matchups. This means submitting up to four lists to james.mcmeiken@gmail.com by the 10th of July.

Scale: 15mm

The period: As this event is new and a long way to travel for many players it’ll be open and inclusive.
What to bring: Your army, copies of your list, dice, and playing aids.
I’ll talk to entrants to see who can bring some terrain with them to ensure we have enough for the event.

Missions

2 x 300 point on each of the mornings
2 x 200 point missions in the afternoons

Missions will be revealed after pairings (and choice of army) have been made. The custom ones may require a little reading, this will be factored into the time for the mission.
I have written a couple of missions that I need to playtest, if they work they may be plated at the event, they’ll be designed for balanced forces.

9:15 to 12.30 Game 1 (If custom Mission will be on day 2 to give reading time)
Lunch (tables changed): 12:30 to 14:00
14:00 17.30 to Game 2 (If custom mission used will be on day 1)
18:00 Time to head to the hotels or meal or home!
