Fire support for attacker shock

French in column charge and bring up a morale support unit for 1 CP. Can the attacker pay a 1 CP also bring up a skirmisher to provide fire support?

I don't have the rules to hand. However, if I recall correctly, the rule simply states 'supporting units'. It doesn't specify morale support specifically. In which case, fire support is OK too.
