Part of any new rules is learning where to look for stuff.
In ADLG I pretty much know something, so when I umpire I can usually say, read the definition on page ___.
But I am no where near that with BE yet. That is why the top of this thread I laid out what I thought the process "may" be.

This seems to be the most discussed part of the rules, so it would be good to get it sorted out before we all return to start the first competitions.

Sorry if the rule is not clear, but it should be played as follow :
- Artillery can fire through Skirmishers and unlimbered artillery to target a massed unit.
- Artillery cannot fine through a disordered unit (infantry or cavalry) as it block line of sight.
- Disordered units have no formation but they are not dispersed as skirmisher.
