I believe you've inadvertently misstated the actual situation Viking. The division in question had 3 cavalry, 3 light infantry, and 1 horse gun - a total of 7 units.

At the start your correct
General rolled 1
3 inf, 3cav
Inf advances. 1 inf takes a cohesion and falls back disorepdered
Next turn
General rolls a 1
Now only 2 infantry

if i understand well, 2 Formed infantry, 1 disordered infantry, 3 Light Horses and 1 horse artillery.

So at the beginning of the activation 3 Units must follow the attack order with only 1 PC.

2 possibilities :

2 infantry full move and Horse artillery firing at effective range.
Or
if artillery is out of effective range, 3 LC must charge.
