Some troops of a nation have deep order doctrine, but the nation, thinking French here, can use mixed order. Is it permitted to form a group of troops only permitted to have deep order with others who are in line?
The rules suggest that troops with deep order doctrine may only move in groups that are entirely columns. However, history would imply that the French doctrine was devised to allow poorly trained columns to operate with experienced regular troops in line.

Re: Mixed order
If you have the mixed order doctrine, you can make a group with column or line.
if not, you can't.
if not, you can't.
Re: Mixed order
SO this is basically 1814 French infantry with conscripts. So this takes the conscripts out of being able to group move with mixed order troops in line. That's our conclusion?
