A unit of LC moves to within 4 of some detached skirmishers who choose not to flee as they have an action marker. It has to its rear a building 3 ud behind and also an infantry unit 6 ud to its rear.
On the following turn ths skirmishers division activates first. The LC want to opportunity charge the detached skirmishers but no they are not moving says player 1, looks consistent with p44. Subsequently moves the column 5ud and deploys into square outside the 4ud of the cavalry. The disappointed british player thought he was getting a kill on the detached skirmishers and that he could opportunity charge the minute the division activated.
How would you have played it.
cheers

Re: Opportunity charge
Yes sounds correct to me presumably the square is now within 2 UD of the skirmishers who can hide behind it if the cavalry charge in his go. Good move!

Re: Opportunity charge
Except the skirmishers must move back or flee and stay out of 4UD of the cavalry if in the open. Nice try
Re: Opportunity charge
I agree the SK must move out the 4ud during the Lc move. So no opportunity charge.
