Is it permitted to do a combination of moves types?
For example, an infantry column with a move of 6UD moves backward for 1UD and follows it with a lateral move of 2UD.
Both moves are at half rate so the distance it is not an issue.
We also sometimes see slides and laterals combined.

Re: Combination Moves
FWIW, I'd always worked on the assumption that any lateral move was all you could do in a turn (ie not combined with anything else).
Likewise, I've always treated a slide as being able to be combined with other movement (forward or back), and ditto for formation changes.

Re: Combination Moves
Obviously they have to comply with orders so for the purpose of these, the move below doesn't comply, But only half of the units have to comply anyway.
Based in the North of England UK, drop me a message if you're interested in playing a game of BE.

Re: Combination Moves
I can answer my own question now I have reread the rules. A unit may perform one or more manouvres, hence it can combine items described in the manouvre section.
