Skirmish fire from a square

Hi Guys,

1. Can you conduct skirmish fire from a square?

2. If you can are there any negative modifiers to that fire?

Dear Andy,
An unit in square formation can’t have a bonus with skirmishers belonging to this unit. The same if the unit is in disorder, fight cavalry.
I don’t have the English version but it is written in the French version page 65 in the chapter for inside skirmishers.

I see the entry now.

The phrase in the English version is '...do not count...'.

I suspect this means that a square cannot carry out skirmish fire at all.

Is this correct?

Yes, squares do not have skirmishers.
