Some confusion over these two.

A unit has an attrition marker and takes another attrition. As two attrition are the equivalent to one loss, do you remove the two attrition markers and replace it with a one loss marker?

Yes.
The unit now suffers a malus for shock and fire.

An attrition is half a loss.

1 attrition + another attrition = 1 loss
1 loss and 1 attrition + 1 new attrition = 2 losses
And so on

Remove the markers
