I am waiting on the rules but...

I have a question about base frontages for 6mm.
I see people mention 30mm and or 40mm, is the playing community gravitating towards one or the other ?.

Its a mixed bag. I have my 6mm and 15mm on 40mm frontage because 3 previous rulesets FogN,Lassale and Blucher had that as the frontage.
I have enough Russians and French to do Borodino so I'm not about to change.
However that said, I have played plenty of games and against reasonable people there are no major problems.
If you have not already based them then I would discuss with your likely opponents/club mates to get a consensus. In my opinion 40 mm frontage looks better but thats just me.
cheers
Jim

Janos,
are you the same as posted this on the FB page? I don't want to clutter up your world if the same.

Yes I am, no problem, was not sure which place would get the best response.
Part of the problem is I have no club, or opponents, so I am scrabbling around the dark.

Basing depends of your opponents: if yous intend to do tournaments, then use the more common bases as said in the rules.
If you play with friends, adapt to their pre-existing basing. Personel anecdot, I use 45x15 mm bases for infantry and 45x45 mm for Art and Cav. Why? Because my friends have already based armies dating from "Les aigles" with basing one 1/12 figurine on a 15x15 mm base. So one base for me will be the same size as 3 of their figurines.
