Orientation of artillery after unlimbering
Can a battery be faced in any direction when unlimbering?

Re: Orientation of artillery after unlimbering
Dan,
I don't see how this citation addresses the issue of unit orientation when unlimbering. It speaks of re-orienting deployed artillery costing 1 CP.

Re: Orientation of artillery after unlimbering
As a group move I presume you have to keep the same facing as others in the group. As a single unit would this not be like wheeling at the end of the move?
Don't have the rules to hand so speculating here.

Re: Orientation of artillery after unlimbering
I agree that as a group move would have to keep orientation.

Agreed as to group move. Doesn't answer the original question though.
Re: Orientation of artillery after unlimbering
I don't see why it couldn't be faced in any direction you choose.
In the English version it has
"Unlimbered(or deployed) artillery can make a reorientation in place(up to 180 degrees) and fire" page 39.
It seems sensible to me that this covers Artillery that is already Unlimbered and artillery that has just deployed.
cheers
Jim
The French version has it as the below
"L' artillerie deployee peut se reorienter sur place
(sans limite, jusqu' a 360°) et tirer."
which google translate has as.
The deployed artillery can be reoriented on the spot
(without limit, up to 360 °) and shoot.

Re: Orientation of artillery after unlimbering
I'll take it. Seemed logical to me that as part of unlimbering an artillery unit can be oriented in any direction. I just couldn't find that stated anywhere.
Re: Orientation of artillery after unlimbering
I confirm : when you unlimber an artillery, you can orient it in whatever direction.
