Bataille Empire Open day Round 2 – Halifax- June 1st

Taster Sessions
Novice players to the Bataille Empire set of rules will be invited to play one game during the day starting at 10 am and cover all the basics necessary for the understanding as to how to play a game of BE. Ideally two such players will attend and then a walkthrough game will be demonstrated with these players acting as the generals. Should there be only one novice attending they will be paired with an existing player to compete in the competition or if the novices prefer this way of getting into the game, this will be facilitated.

Open day Competitions
This 15mm event will run with 2 games over the day.
• Players should indicate at least two weeks in advance if they can attend an open day.
• Players will be then given details of their opponents for the day with the aim of ensuring that players play against opponents they wouldn’t normally play or haven’t played against during the year as far as possible.
• The aim of the matchups is to ensure that games are blue on red. So as the number of rounds progress players may be asked to field an army from Empire of Coalition sides to make for suitable match-ups between players based on rankings and previous opponents.
• All army lists should comply with the requirements in the Version 2 BE rulebook.
• Army lists should be 200 pts maximum except period 5 which is 220pts.
• Army lists should be sent to the organiser for checking at least a week beforehand to allow for reworking in case of errors.
• Standard sized tables of 120mm * 80mm. Appropriately sized mats should be brought if available.
• Preset tables will be used for the competition games and a number of players will be asked to bring mats and terrain suitable for one table based on a computer-generated print-out fully compliant with the rules sent to them before the competition. These will be set up in the 9 am to 9:30am slot.


Timetable
The timetable for 15mm is as follows:
• Day of event: 09:00 for a 9:30 start-13:00, 13:30-17:00
• Games with then begin with dicing to determine the attacker who will then choose sides before dicing by the umpire for the type of engagement for all the games. The assault scenario will be discounted in the single day events and rerolled.
• Games will be finish after a full turn as been completed. Twenty minutes before the end of the game players will be told this to enable them to agree when they can finish the game without exceeding the time limit significantly. Games will last a maximum of 7 bounds
