Army List Program and Competition Program

Message par RogerGreenwood » ven. 18 oct. 2024 11:20

The Army list preparation program (described in the Alternative Army List Program thread) is now available to be downloaded from the gamebase.games website.
I have a new program available there for anyone who wants software to host a BE competition. It uses the scoring system currently available with the 'official' spreadsheet for managing competitions and can produce Excel files with the same results data. It might prove easier to use for those who would prefer an alternative to working with spreadsheets. It adds features for multiple players per side, a permanent list of players and an automatic draw feature.
For both programs there are links to Youtube video for those who don't like reading manuals. :)

I have now added my reference sheet for reactions and orders to the downloadable items. This consists of two A4 pages, one covering reaction options by troop type, the other a summary of options and restrictions for the division orders.
I have these laminated back to back. Several players already use them. I find the most frequently referred to is the reactions page. For example, players can quickly discover the options available when a unit is charged. The following is an extract:

The Target of a Charge
Cavalry
Counter charge
Stand (note special case versus an infantry flank charge)
Change formation/orientation: NOT disordered (TM) or versus opportunity charge
Flee: NOT in good order with attack or hold orders and frontally charged, unless irregular

(It is even more clear with key words underlined or in colour.)
